Karen Ann Portell

Karen Ann Portell of Potosi, Missouri was born on Tuesday, December 24, 1946 in Old Mines, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Mary G. Portell and William M. Portell. Karen departed this life on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of fifty-nine years, nine months and ten days.

Karen is survived by four brothers, Thomas Portell of Old Mines, Missouri, Carl Portell and wife Mary Catherine of Old Mines, Missouri, Joseph Portell and wife Wanda of St. Louis, Missouri, Ronald Portell and wife Joyce of Potosi, Missouri; sister-in-law, Judy Portell, also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Margaret Rundel, Virginia Portell-Boyer, Norma Jean Portell, two brothers, William G. Portell and Donald Lynn Portell.

Karen enjoyed dancing, singing and visiting with people. She loved Tina’s dog, Spanky and all of the holidays. Karen also got great pleasure going and being with people. She was a very kind and loving woman who will be deeply missed by all of her loved ones and many friends.

Visitation was held Friday, October 6, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, October 7, 2006 from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 9:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.

Final prayers and burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri
