Michael Anthony Portell of St. Louis, Missouri was born on Tuesday, August 13, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at his residence having reached the age of forty-three years, eleven months and one day.
Michael is survived by two daughters, Brytney Gayle Portell of Union, Missouri, Haley Rose Portell of Union, Missouri; one son, Anthony Michael Portell of Union, Missouri; mother and father, Alice Mae (Price) Portell and Bob Nelson Portell of Cadet, Missouri; two brothers, Bobby Nelson Portell, Jr. and wife Tammy of Mineral Point, Missouri, Mark Kent Portell of Cadet, Missouri; special friend, Kate Rose of Elsah, Illinois; former wife, Krystal Gayle Burks of Union, Missouri; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Kay Voelker.
Michael loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church with his parents, when he came to visit. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball and going to his son, Anthony’s games. Michael also had a large collection of Cardinal Memorabilia that he was very proud of. He was a computer wiz at work and at home. Michael loved spending time with his family and friends and will be very deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation was held Monday, July 16, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, July 17, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend John Edwards officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Bobby N. Portell, Jr., Mark K. Portell, Kyle D. Portell, Steve Skidmore, Tom Roderique, Ray Beck and Jacob Voelker.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
