Rosemarie Portell of Potosi, Missouri was born Thursday, September 29, 1927 in Saint Louis, Missouri. A Daughter of the late Marie (Renfro) Renshaw and Hanzel Roy Renshaw. Rosemarie departed this life Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital at the age of Seventy-six Years, Two Months and Twenty-four Days.
Rosemarie was united in Marriage to Harry R. Portell May 29, 1945 in Potosi, Missouri. They were blessed to have Five sons born to the union.
Rosemarie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of Fifty- eight years, Harry Portell of Potosi, Missouri; Five Sons, Timothy B. Portell of Potosi, Missouri, Stephen M. Portell and wife Debra of DeSoto, Missouri, David Portell and wife Marcia of Potosi, Missouri, Mark J. Portell of Potosi, Missouri and Matt Portell and wife Susan of Bakersfield, California; Twelve Grandchildren; Fifteen Great Grandchildren and by many other relatives and friends.
Rosemarie had a great love and enjoyed her family, she always looked forward to being with her Sons as each of them gave her great joy and love. She loved to make the plans for a family celebration, especially during the Holidays.
Rosemarie enjoyed going to the Potosi Presbyterian Church for fellowship and listening to the Choir Music. She enjoyed cooking for her family and many friends. Rosemarie was always ready to pack the bags and go on a trip, she was blessed to travel throughout most of the United States. She was an avid reader and would relax with a good local history book or a mystery book.
Visitation was held Saturday, December 27, 2003 at the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend John Irwin Officiating. Musical Selections played were "Amazing Grace" and "Just As I Am". Special Scripture Readings were from the Old and New Testament of the Bible.
The Celebration of the Life of Rosemarie was Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, MO.
