Gerald Poucher
Gerald Poucher of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on Friday, July 11, 1930 in Gumbo, Missouri a son of the late, Carrie M. (Burt) Poucher and Fred D. Poucher. Gerald departed this life on Friday, October 2, 2009 at his residence having reached the age of seventy-nine years, two months and twenty-one days.
Gerald was united in marriage to Laura Lawaun Alcorn on September 2, 1950 in Leadwood, Missouri and this union was blessed with three sons.
Gerald is survived by three sons, Terry Bernard Poucher of Farmington, Missouri, Gerald Lee Poucher and wife, Lisa of Mineral Point, Missouri, David Wayne Poucher of Mineral Point, Missouri; three sisters, Jewel Poucher of Park Hills, Missouri, Glonda Miller and husband, Dave of Festus, Missouri, Nelda Parker and husband, Charles of Rockwood, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; dear friends, Cheri Bolin, Edna Politte, Mark and Helen Saunchegraw, Lou and Ruth Cantrell, Mike and Susan Politte, Kenny and Mary Drennen, Dennis and Missy Allen, Jerry Nelson, Irvin and Betty Drennen; hospice nurses, Chrissy Will, Jeanna Godat, Tabitha Sales; hospice Chaplin, John Davis; also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Laura Lawaun Poucher, two sisters, Opal Dinkens, Shirley Cagle, three brothers, Jesse Poucher, Clarence Poucher, Danny Poucher and one great-grandchild, Madelyn Beamon.
Gerald’s life was devoted to repairing vehicles; he loved working on cars and building Army trucks. He also enjoyed going to assist anyone when they were stranded or stuck in the mud. Gerald enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He also enjoyed visiting and spending time with his family and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, October 5, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Monday, October 5, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Chaplain John Davis officiating.
Honoring Gerald by serving as pallbearers were: Bobby Lee Smith, Mark David Saunchegraw, Kenny Drennen, Jerry Nelson, Mike Politte, Stanley Drennen, Carl Briley, Lou Cantrell, Larry Lee and Ed Politte.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Hopewell Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.
