Opal Pratt

Opal I. Pratt of Old Mines, Missouri was born on Tuesday, January 18, 1927 in Blodgett, Missouri a daughter of the late, Zelma Catherine (Etherton) Senciboy and George F. Senciboy. Opal departed this life on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-three years, eleven months and eleven days.

Opal was united in marriage to Roy T. Pratt on October 21, 1945 at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri.

Opal is survived by four daughters, Freda Irene Pratt-Boyer of Old Mines, Missouri, Anne Catherine Brady and husband, Ed of Shiloh, Illinois, Mary Theresa Tinker and husband, Mark of Ironton, Missouri, Dorothy Louise Hahlweg and husband, Larry of Irondale, Missouri; one son, Wayne Stephen Pratt and wife, Sheila of Fenton, Missouri; one sister, Joy Robertson and husband, George of Lawson, Missouri; one brother, Truman Senciboy and wife, Christine of Herculaneum, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Pratt of Old Mines, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Dora Charboneau of DeSoto, Missouri, Helen Pratt of Salem, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. Pratt, four sons, Dale Timothy Pratt, David George Pratt, Francis Paul Pratt and one infant, one sister, Iola Senciboy, four brothers, James Senciboy, Bob Senciboy, Billy Senciboy and Dale Senciboy.

Opal was a life long parishioner of the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri. She was the matriarch of her family always bringing everyone together. Opal had many friends and was known for always having an open heart, open ears and open arms to all. She enjoyed watching the Grand Ole Opry and Lawrence Welk. She would relax, embroidering many, many items. She had a great love for her grandchildren and each of them had a dear and special place in her heart.

Visitation was held Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, December 31, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.

Honoring Opal by serving as pallbearers were: Brian Pratt, David Boyer, Nathan Brady, Justin Brady, Adam Nichols, Nick Hahlweg, Chet Hahlweg and Scott Pratt.

Following the Services the family gathered at the St. Joachim Catholic School for a Lunch that was provided by the Parish Family.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
