JoAnn Price of Irondale, Missouri was born on February 25, 1934 in Irondale, Missouri to the late, Ida and Arthur R. Henson. JoAnn departed this life on August 28, 2013 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-nine years, six months and three days.
JoAnn is survived by two sons, Casey Price and wife, Katrina of Potosi, Missouri; Bobby Price of Farmington, Missouri; one daughter, Janet Sansoucie of Mineral Point, Missouri; one brother, James Henson and wife, Mary of Annapolis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Kyra Price of Potosi, Missouri; Mary Farris of Ironton, Missouri; also surviving are many, many foster children she cared for over the years, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Price, one son, Louis D. Price, Jr., one sister, Fernbell Warren and two brothers, Freman Henson and Bob Henson.
JoAnn was truly one of God’s Angels who touched so many lives and helped so many people. Her greatest achievement was she took in over sixty-five foster children over the years and also delivered food to people in need. She worked at Brown Shoe Company for twenty-nine years, and also worked at nursing homes for years. JoAnn was a very active member of the Irondale community; she served as mayor for one year from 2011-2012 and was on the Irondale Park Board for many years. JoAnn was a free spirited woman, brave, courageous and pure at heart. She loved her family and the time they spent together and enjoyed cooking for them and always enjoyed her ice cold Pepsi. JoAnn was a very caring, compassionate woman who never met a stranger who will long be remembered and greatly missed by all.
A Graveside Service was held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Big River Cemetery, Irondale, Missouri with Brother Carl Wilson officiating.
