Nellie (Shaw) Pulliam of Irondale, Missouri, was born September 24, 1945, in Leslie, Missouri, a daughter of the late Oren and Mamie (Gray) Shaw. Nellie departed this life Saturday, May 11, 2019, at her residence having reached the age of 73 Years, 7 Months and 17 Days.
Nellie was united in marriage to the late Rayford Pulliam, Jr. on May 4, 1963, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Nellie is survived by fourteen children, Gary Pulliam and wife Mary Ann of Farmington, MO, James “Butch” Pulliam of Irondale, MO, Tommy Pulliam and wife Elaine of Irondale, MO, Tina Pulliam of Park Hills, MO, Ruth Pulliam and friend Jerry Parmley of Mineral Point, MO, Brian “Zeke” Pulliam of Irondale, MO, Gale Pulliam and wife Diane of Irondale, MO, Dwayne Pulliam and wife Jennifer of Irondale, MO, Sandra White of Bismarck, MO, Rusty Pulliam and wife Alana of Park Hills, MO, Missy Pulliam and friend Chris Mowry of Bonne Terre, MO, Aaron “Pete” Pulliam of Irondale, MO, Brandon Pulliam and wife Crystal of Belgrade, MO and Crystal McDowell and husband Jason of Desloge, MO, two sisters, Lou Shaw of Belle, MO, Olla Swank of Alexis, IL, five brothers, John Shaw of Belle, MO, Bobby Shaw and wife Loretta of Union, MO, Eldo Shaw and wife Virginia of Norfolk, VA, Walter Shaw of Rock Island, IL, Frank Shaw of St. Louis, MO, 38 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Nellie was also preceded in death by two children, Kevin Pulliam and Terri Pulliam, sister, Faye Schmidt and three brothers, Leslie Shaw, Roy Shaw, Joe Shaw and by one grandchild, Danielle Woods.
Nellie had a great love for her family and many friends. She took great pride in serving the local community at the Blue Haven Café. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and was especially talented in growing roses. Nellie will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
