Mike Rains of Potosi, Missouri was born on Monday, December 11, 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on Monday, September 13, 2010 having reached the age of forty-two years, nine months and two days.
Mike was united in marriage to Carmen Maddox on April 25, 1990 in St. Louis, Missouri and they were blessed with one daughter, Kayla Rains.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Carmen Rains of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter, Kayla Michelle Rains and fiancé, Randall Bowles of Potosi, Missouri; Father, Gilbert E. Rains of Kirkwood, Missouri; four sisters, Jeannine Yeast of DeSoto, Missouri, Jennifer Moore and husband, John of Bloomsdale, Missouri, Julianne Jones and husband, Kenny of O’Fallon, Missouri, Jessica Theodorou and husband, Van of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Garrett Rains and wife, Angela of Ballwin, Missouri; mother-in-law, Linda Wilson of Concord Village, Missouri; one great nephew, Charlie Patrick of Potosi, Missouri; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Gil was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon (Rausch) Rains.
Mike loved his daughter to the fullest and enjoyed having spirited discussions with her that always concluded with laughter and love. He was very proud of all his immediate family and his extended family of firefighters and paramedics. Mike was very proud of earning his title Lieutenant. He was a wonderful handyman he could fix just about anything and if he couldn’t he would try till he was successful. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing with his dad and his future son-in-law, Randy, who was just like his son. Gil loved all types of music and singing. He also enjoyed taking care of his horses, even while contending with constant pain. Mike was considered by all to be full of strength and determination.
Visitation was held Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 8:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Thirza Sayers officiating.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
