Randall Joseph Rutledge, better known as "Randy", was born on February 27th, 1957. He grew up in Potosi, Missouri and attended Potosi High School, graduating with the class of 1975.
On July 1st, 1989 he married his wife, Charolette, who he always called "Charlie", and they celebrated 35 years together.
He enjoyed his work as a truck driver and being with his family. Adding to the joy of their lives was a son, David "Stormy" and his wife, Ruth, of Potosi, Missouri; three daughters, Sonya, her fiancé, Eric of Birch Tree, Missouri, Tina, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Shannon, of Park Hills, Missouri. He had thirteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren.
Randy enjoyed poker games with his friends and family and playing Word Trivia on Charlie's computer. He especially loved to play a spontaneous card game of Skip-Bo with Charlie. He enjoyed the outdoors, floating and fishing. Randy was a believer in Jesus and had been baptized when he was young. He had a funny and easy going personality, always having a funny line, story or joke. He was funny without even trying. Randy had a heart for dogs and was known to adopt any stray that came across his path.
On July 24th, 2024, he went home to be with his Savior, happily reunited with his parents, Myrtle and Joseph Rutledge; two brothers, James "Butch" and Jerry; his wife's parents, Elmer and Pauline Smith; granddaughter, "Becca"; great-granddaughter, "Izzy", and many other family and friends that were excited to greet him. He had enjoyed 67 years, 4 months and 27 days of life.
Randy will be laid to rest next to his parents on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Cemetery in Potosi, Missouri. In honoring his wishes, there will not be any formal services planned. However, friends and family that would like to visit with Charlie and loved ones may join them at the cemetery.
In place of floral tributes, Memorial contributions may be made, in Randy's name, directly to Moore Funeral Home in Potosi.
Randy was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandpa, brother–in-law, uncle, and a dear friend to many that will miss his quick wit and fun sense of humor.
