James “Jim” Clifton Reed of Blackwell, Missouri was born November 23, 1931 in Lafe, Arkansas, a son to the late Sheral Thomas Reed and Roselia (Dodd) Reed, Jim departed this life Friday, July 3, 2020 having reached the age of 88 years, 7 months and 10 days.
On May 26, 1956, Jim was united in marriage to the late Willia Elsie (Enloe) Reed and together they were blessed with fifty-two years of marriage. Willia preceded Jim in death February 22, 2009.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Carma Labbee of Blackwell, Missouri, Tina Reed and fiancé James Thurman of Cadet, Missouri; step son, Clifford Ray of Chilliwack, British Columbia; six grandchildren: Callee (Chris) Klingeman, Corree Labbee (fiancé Ashley Burke), Tasha (Rocky, Jr.) Dean, Jillisa (Dennis) Portell, Patty Ray, Teah Pickett; eleven great grandchildren: Michee Reed, Jr., Frederick “Fred”, Kaitlyn, Rocky, Jr., Faith Willia, Steven, Aubree, Seth, Dennis, Jr., Clifton, Ava; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and loving wife, Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Reed; sister, Mae Lautner and grandson Michee Reed, Sr.
Jim was a family man with a big heart. He worked for many years as a butcher at May Rose Packing Co. and Schnucks. He was a member of the American Legion Post #265 and a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1952-1954. He loved tending to horses, taking care of his yard and spending time with his family and grandchildren. His memory will be cherished forever.
