Reuben L. Lawson, a hard worker and dedicated family man, passed away on August 8, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born on December 19, 1950, in Ironton, Missouri, to his loving parents, Billie Ruth (Tucker) Lawson and Reuben Wilbert Lawson. Reuben was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Allen Lawson and sister, Rebecca Lawson.
Reuben proudly served in the United States Army, where he demonstrated his exceptional skill as a sharpshooter and was honored with the National Defense Medal. His military service was a testament to his commitment and bravery.
He was a man of many interests and hobbies, actively engaging in the community as a member of the Potosi Elks Lodge #2218, Washington County Knights of Columbus, and a faithful attendee of St. Joachim Catholic Church. Reuben found joy in playing guitar, fishing, hunting, and quietly helping others without seeking recognition. His generosity and kindness touched the lives of many.
Reuben's proudest accomplishments revolved around his role as a veteran, husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his family and friends above all else, holding them close to his heart with unwavering love and devotion.
In his lifetime, Reuben was surrounded by his beloved family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jayne Lawson, and their children: daughters Shanna Engelage (Chris), Kendra Stark (Shea), and son Raven Black (Jamie). He is also survived by his sister, Crystal Lawson (Angie Burke), and brothers Marion Lynn Lawson (Carol), Jeff Lawson, and James Anthony Lawson. Reuben was a loving grandfather to Caleb, Kyleigh (Keith), Clayton, Cali, Lucas, Tatum, Joey, Evelyn, Ahrianna, Elyse, Shaunna, Jameson, and Jhett. His legacy lives on through the memories shared with his growing family.
As we mourn the loss of Reuben L. Lawson, we remember his kindness, strength, and the love he shared with all who knew him. May he rest in peace, knowing he was cherished and will he be deeply missed.
