Willa Dean Richards

Dean Richards of Potosi, Missouri was born on Tuesday, March 24, 1931 in Eminence, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Herman Haskel Johnston and Daisy Mae (Shiverdeck) Johnston. Dean departed this life on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Barnes Jewish Medical Center in Saint Louis, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-five years and two months.

Dean was united in marriage to Virgil “Sonny” Richards on February 8, 1963 in Potosi, Missouri.

Dean is survived by daughter, Pam Varner and husband Greg of Potosi, Missouri; son Victor Richards and wife Teresa of Potosi, Missouri; sister, Mary Wren and husband Tom of Potosi, Missouri; six grandchildren, Abbie, Alys, Kameron, Hunter, Heather, Thomas; and dear friend, Lorene Pankey of Potosi, Missouri. Dean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, “Sonny” Richards, three brothers, Gerald Wayne Johnston, Owen Wayland Johnston, James Irvan Johnston, two sisters, Helen “Pewee” White, and Sharron Johnston.

Dean graduated from Eminence High School then became a restaurant owner. She enjoyed running the restaurant and getting to talk to all of her friends and customers. Dean loved to decorate, and could always be found fixing something up. Most, Dean loved her family and the time she had to spend with them especially her grandchildren.

Visitation was held Friday, May 26, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Dave Skaggs officiating.

Burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
