GEORGE RICHESON OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, WAS BORN FEBRUARY 22, 1917, IN POTOSI, MISSOURI, A SON OF THE LATE CHARLES JUDSON AND FANNY MYRTLE (MOORE) RICHESON. GEORGE DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT POTOSI MANOR ON MARCH 12, 1999, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHTY-TWO YEARS AND EIGHTEEN DAYS.
GEORGE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO MARY BELLE GIBSON ON JANUARY 14, 1942, IN SULLIVAN, MISSOURI, AND TO THIS UNION FOUR CHILDREN WERE BORN.
GEORGE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, MARY BELLE RICHESON OF POTOSI, ONE SON, ROBERT RICHESON AND WIFE ARLINE OF POTOSI, THREE DAUGHTERS, RUTH GIBSON AND HUSBAND WAYNE OF BELGRADE, LAVERNE RATLIFF AND HUSBAND DOW OF GREENLAND, ARKANSAS, FAYE EYE AND HUSBAND PAUL OF ARNOLD, ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN, EIGHT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, TWO BROTHERS, BILL RICHESON AND WIFE MELADEAN OF IMPERIAL, OWEN "RICHIE" RICHESON AND WIFE BETTY OF POTOSI, ONE SISTER, ANN PRICE AND HUSBAND CLAUDE OF FARMINGTON. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS HE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY TWO SISTERS, CHLOE HENRY, MYRTLE "BEE" WELLMEYER, THREE BROTHERS, PAUL, JOHN AND OTTO RICHESON AND ONE GREAT GRANDSON, JEFFREY PARKS.
GEORGE WAS A LONG TIME MEMBER OF THE BRETON CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH.
GEORGE WAS A WELL KNOWN PAINTER IN THE LOCAL AREA. HE ENJOYED THE MANY GIFTS OF NATURE AND LOVED TO SPEND TIME FISHING, HUNTING AND GARDENING. GEORGE ENJOYED SITTING AND REMINISCING THE OLD DAYS.
GEORGE HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR HIS FAMILY ESPECIALLY HIS GRANDCHILDREN, EACH OF THEM HELD A VERY DEAR PLACE IN HIS HEART.
VISITATION WAS HELD SUNDAY, MARCH 14, 1999, FROM 3:30 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED MONDAY, MARCH 15, 1999, AT 11:00 A.M. AT THE GUM & SON CHAPEL WITH REVEREND DALE BLOUNT OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN REDBUD MEMORIAL GARDENS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, BRAD GIBSON, RICH RATLIFF, DANNY RATLIFF, BILL RICHESON, OWEN RICHESON, JOE RICHESON, MELVIN COLTER AND NATHAN EYE.
