MARY LEE RIGGS OF POTOSI, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT RIPLEY, TENNESSEE ON APRIL 5, 1906. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE HENRY AND MINNIE (SUMMERS) MCPHEARSON. MARY DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT THE GEORGIAN GARDENS NURSING HOME IN POTOSI, MISSOURI ON SEPTEMBER 20, 2002 HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF NINETY SIX YEARS, FIVE MONTHS AND FIFTEEN DAYS.
MARY WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO GLEN E. RIGGS AND TO THIS UNION ONE SON WAS BORN. GLEN PRECEDED HIS WIFE IN DEATH ON FEBRUARY 19, 1987.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY THREE DAUGHTERS, BETTY SULLIVAN OF BALLWIN, MISSOURI, LOUISE COLLINS AND HUSBAND GEORGE OF ST. CHARLES, MISSOURI AND LOIS RIGGS AND HUSBAND NORMAN OF OWENSVILLE, MISSOURI, FIVE SONS, STANLEY COKER AND WIFE WILENE OF CAHOKIA, ILLINOIS, BRIAN COKER OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, HAROLD COKER OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, FREDDIE COKER OF ST. CHARLES, MISSOURI AND ERBON RIGGS OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, GRANDCHILDREN MARK AND KELLY RIGGS AND MANY OTHER GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN CODY AND CHAD RIGGS AND MANY OTHER GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND HUSBAND SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE SISTER, EVA MYERS AND TWO BROTHERS, OLLIE MCPHEARSON AND LEONARD MCPHEARSON.
MARY ENJOYED VISITING AND TALKING WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. SHE LOVED COOKING AND WAS WELL KNOWN FOR HER HOME COOKED MEALS. MARY WILL BE LOVINGLY MISSED BY FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
VISITATION WAS HELD SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2002 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AND MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2002 FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2002 AT 2:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH REVEREND BOB BULLOCK OFFICIATING. MUSICAL SELECTIONS PLAYED WERE WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS AND PRECIOUS MEMORIES. SPECIAL MEMORIES WERE READ THAT WERE GIVEN BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
GRAVESIDE SERVICES WERE HELD AT 3:10 P.M. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2002 AT THE SHOAL CREEK CEMETERY LED BY REVEREND BOB BULLOCK. SERVING AS PALL BEARERS WERE MARK RIGGS, ERIC KNAPP, SCOTT TURNER, NORMAN RIGGS, CLYDE RIGGS AND EUGENE RIGGS. SERVICES WERE UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI. SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE MARK RIGGS, ERIC KNAPP, SCOTT TURNER, NORMAN RIGGS, CLYDE RIGGS AND EUGENE RIGGS.
