Robert Rugh, Sr, lovingly known as “Bob” was born January 23, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son to the late William Rugh and Ruth (Stockwell) Rugh. Bob passed away December 12, 2024.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Robert Rugh, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Potosi, Terry Rugh and wife Crystal of Utah; daughter, Amy Lands and husband Sam of Belgrade; sister, Betty Rugh of Ironton; brother, Lawrence Rugh of Ironton; grandchildren, James and Daniel Lands in addition to many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bob was preceded death by his parents, William and Ruth Rugh; wife, Marjorie Rugh; brother, William Thomas Rugh, and his sister Mary Jo Garrison.
Bob served in the United States Army as a cook and was stationed in Germany for 1 years. While in the service he achieved the National Defense Service Medal and expert badge M-14. Bob worked for Doe Run Mining Company for over 20 years before retiring early due to his health. The mines were notorious for giving miners nicknames, he was known as “Indian”. In his spare time, Bob liked to scrap and tinker around in his garage. He loved to fish, camp, and take road rides. His favorite memories were camping trips with family. Bob loved his family and always wanted to keep them close.
In 1966, Bob married the love of his life, Marjorie, and they shared 50 years of marriage. Losing her was one of the hardest things he had to go through. They loved to travel and visited several states through the years. They had a lot of camping and fishing stories to tell. Bob loved family get togethers and good food. He was always willing to help people. Bob will be remembered for his stubbornness. He spoke his mind and held nothing back. He often said his mouth was always getting him in trouble. He will be missed. This is not goodbye, it’s just see ya later!
