John Allen Roberts, Sr.
John Roberts, Sr. of Cadet, Missouri was born on Thursday, March 2, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri a son of the late, Thelma (Hickman) Roberts and Merlin Roberts. John departed this life on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of sixty-three years, six months and twenty-eight days.
John is survived by his wife, Marie (Kley) Roberts of Cadet, Missouri; two daughters, Michelle Snow and husband, Michael of Cadet, Missouri, Sharon Walls and husband, Wayne of Old Mines, Missouri; six sons, William “Bill” Roberts of Cadet, Missouri, Johnny Roberts, Jr. of Cadet, Missouri, Ricky Roberts of Cadet, Missouri, Carl Roberts of Cadet, Missouri, Robert Roberts of Cadet, Missouri and Zack Roberts of Cadet, Missouri; one sister, Betty Roberts of Fenton, Missouri; three brothers, Melvin Roberts, Carl Roberts and wife, Irene, Paul Roberts and wife, Wanda; eight grandchildren, Amber, Angelia, Peyton, Gavin, Austin, Devin, Kayde and Abbi; one great grandchild, Skyleah; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. In addition to John’s parents he was preceded in death by one brother, William Roberts and one sister, Ruth Meyers.
John enjoyed flower gardening, making scrapbooks, picture books and crafts. He also enjoyed watching ballgames on television. John loved his family and loved spending time with them at their family gatherings. One of John’s pleasures was listening to gospel music.
Visitation was held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 1:00 PM in the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Charles Williams officiating assisted by Chris Massey. Musical selections were: “How Great Thou Art” and “Mansion Over the Hilltop” sang by, Nancy Russell, Judy Rector and Shirley Skaggs. Serving as pallbearers were: Kenny Skaggs, Johnny Roberts, Mike Kley II, Josh Revelle, Stephen Kley, Branden Kley, Kevin Barton and Mike Kley.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.
