Glenda Loucinda Elizabeth Rowe of Potosi, Missouri was born on Sunday, July 19, 1925 in Banner, Missouri a daughter of the late, Hazel M. (Fryman) Tinker and Claude E. Tinker. Glenda departed this life on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-five years, eight months and ten days.
Glenda was united in marriage to Jesse Edward Rowe on November 18, 1942 in Potosi, Missouri.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Jesse Edward Rowe, Jr. of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter, Janet Politte and husband, Arthur “Bay-R” of Festus, Missouri; one sister, Tommie Reba Rowe of Potosi, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Mabel Lou Tinker of Potosi, Missouri; three grandchildren, Treena Fults and husband, Troy of Pevely, Missouri, Tina Jarvis and husband, David of Festus, Missouri, Scott Politte and wife, Faith of Maumee, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Austin, Tyler, Alexis, Jackson, Joslynn; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by four infant sisters, one brother, Claude “Sonny” Tinker.
Glenda enjoyed spending time camping, traveling and working with her husband, Ed. She loved to visit with her family and friends. Glenda also enjoyed cooking, sewing and embroidering. She was a member of the Potosi United Methodist Church, Potosi, Missouri. Glenda will be greatly missed by the many lives she has touched.
Visitation was held Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri with an American Legion Memorial Service at 7:00 PM and visitation also Friday, April 1, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Potosi United Methodist Church, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Potosi United Methodist Church, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Jerry Compton and Reverend Bruce Pittman officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Arthur “Bay-R” Politte, Scott Edward Politte, Troy Allen Fults, David Edwin Jarvis, Austin David Jarvis, Tyler Allen Fults and honorary pallbearer, Jackson Edward Politte.
Entombment took place in the New Masonic Mausoleum, Potosi, Missouri.
In honor of Glenda memorials may be directed to the Potosi United Methodist Church Bereavement Fund, 1202 Richeson Rd., Potosi, Missouri 63664.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
