Louise C. Roy
Louise C. Roy of Potosi, Missouri was born the daughter of Bernice Mary (Boyer) Polhemus and Steven Arthur Polhemus on Saturday, September 12, 1925 in Old Mines, Missouri. Louise departed this life at her home on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the age of Eighty-one years, seven months and nine days.
Louise was united in marriage to Gerald W. Roy on December 24, 1948 in Potosi, Missouri.
Louise is survived by her loving and devoted husband of Fifty-eight years, Gerald Roy of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter, Mary Lee Zielinski and husband David of St. Charles, Missouri; two grandchildren, Adam and Amanda Zielinski of St. Charles, Missouri; four sisters, Margaret Maxwell and husband Ralph of Potosi, Missouri, Catherine Schrum of Potosi, Missouri, Virginia Bader of St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Sengheiser of St. Louis, Missouri, Sisters-in-law, Verla Harvey and husband Clinton of Potosi, Wilda Cross of Ranger, Texas; Brothers-in-law, Elwood Barton of Potosi, Missouri, Willis Simpson of Potosi, Missouri, Robert Roy of Portland, Oregon many Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and dear and special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Barton and Rosalie Polhemus; one brother, William E. “Bill” Polhemus; sister-in-law, Rosemary Simpson; brothers-in-law, Jack Bader, John Sengheiser and Charles Lindell Cross.
Louise loved the many gifts the Lord has given, especially the gift of Mother Nature; she enjoyed going for walks and looking at all the many blessings. She loved to spend time working in the vegetable garden with Gerald and working in her flower gardens. She loved to take time and go fishing throughout Missouri at various lakes and going to Kentucky Lake. She loved to cook and bake for anyone at any time. She cherished the time she worked at the Potosi School Cafeterias. Louise also truly enjoyed keeping up on current events and news of the day.
Louise and her husband had a great and strong love for each other. Throughout the marriage they continued to grow closer to each and bond as one. The love they shared for over Fifty-Eight Years was as strong now as it was the first day they found their hearts together. Their life, love and values will continue on with all who knew them.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, April 23, 2007 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.
A Prayer Service was held Monday, April 23, 2007 at 9:00 AM with Reverend Ervin Harris officiating and a Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Dave Zielinski, Adam Zielinski, Eric Sengheiser, Nick Sengheiser and John Simpson.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Red Bud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
