Ruby Lucille Shatley, known for her adventurous spirit and loving nature, passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 101. Born on September 26, 1922, in Belgrade, Missouri, Ruby was the daughter of the late Ora and Earl Tullock. Ruby brought joy and warmth to everyone she met throughout her remarkable life.
Ruby exemplified a life filled with compassion and selflessness. She constantly placed the well-being of others before her own and dedicated herself to her family and friends. Ruby's supportive presence was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew her.
Family meant everything to Ruby, and she cherished the time spent with her loved ones. She especially enjoyed traveling alongside her beloved husband, Paul Shatley before his passing. Together they explored new places, embracing the wonders of the world through their adventures. Ruby's passion for travel allowed her to broaden her horizons while creating treasured memories with Paul.
In addition to being an avid traveler, Ruby found solace and joy in spending time with family. Her two daughters, Regina Burghard and Barbara Hagan and husband David and sister-in law, Shelba Davis, held a special place in her heart. She nurtured them with love and provided unwavering support throughout their lives. The love that Ruby had for her grandchildren was immeasurable. Julia Fiecke (Dan), David Hagen (Debbie), Sean Hagan (Allee), and Elizabeth Burghard Wilson (Robert) felt the warmth and affection their grandmother emanated. They hold dear memories of laughter-filled family gatherings and heartfelt conversations with Ruby.
Watching great-grandchildren Hunter, Grant, Adeline, Roland, Landrie, Raeleigh, Gracelynn, and Gwynevieve grow brought immeasurable joy to Ruby's life. Each child represented the remarkable continuation of her family's legacy, and she embraced them with open arms and boundless love.
Ruby was preceded in death by her siblings Fairy Gillam, Frances Cordia, Aileen Miller, John Tullock, Vernon Tullock, Lindy Tullock, and Don Tullock. Their memory lives on through the stories shared by those who loved Ruby.
Though she may be gone from this world, Ruby's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. May we find solace in remembering the cherished moments we shared with her and strive to carry forth her legacy of love each day.
