Vernon “Red” Sanders of Belleview, Missouri was born on Friday, October 12, 1928 in Mayfield, Kentucky to the late, Hatty Lee (Williams) Sanders and Otas Anthony Sanders. Vernon departed this life on Friday, February 25, 2011at his residence having reached the age of eighty-two years, four months and thirteen days.
“Red” was united in marriage to Annie Elizabeth Baum on March 12, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri.
“Red” is survived by his loving wife, Annie Sanders of Belleview, Missouri; one son, Vernon Jerome Sanders and wife Sandy of Belgrade, Missouri; two daughters, Anna Marie Sanders and fiancé, Danny Browers of Belleview, Missouri, Raylena Ramsey and husband, Billy of Newport, Arkansas; one grandson, Dustin Sanders of Belgrade, Missouri; his favorite companion his dog, Missy; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, “Red” was preceded in death by three sisters, Fanny Larue Sanders, Edith Mae Sanders, Dorothy Virginia Sanders, four brothers, Clyde Sanders, John Thomas Sanders, Fred Madison Sanders and James Sanders.
Vernon attended the Gospel Trinity Pentecostal Church of God, Ironton, Missouri. He loved the many gifts of Mother Nature and working in his yard and vegetable garden. In his spare time “Red” enjoyed working on his cars, watching the news on T.V. and cop shows. Most of all “Red” enjoyed spending time with his large family and was very close to everyone, especially those who assisted with care including, Linda DuMond, Ginger Elaine Daniels, his birthday present, Brittney Leann Harmon and Janet Hemby.
Visitation was held Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, February 28, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Monday, February 28, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Harvey Buckley officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Jerome Sanders, Robbie Snider, Bill Ramsey, Shan DuMond, Jackie Lee Hemby and David Calzoni.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
