James W. "Taylor" Shepard

James William “Taylor” Shepard

James W. “Taylor” Shepard of Cartersville, Georgia formerly of Cadet, Missouri was born on February 12, 1927 in Black, Missouri a son of the late, Nancy (Johnson) Shepard and Henry Shepard. James departed this life on March 10, 2008 at his residence having reached the age of eighty-one years and twenty-six days.

James was united in marriage to Angelia Thebeau on October 30, 1947 in Old Mines, Missouri and this union was blessed with three children.

James is survived by his loving wife, Angelia Shepard of Cartersville, Georgia; two daughters, Deborah Jean Bailie of Cartersville, Georgia, Carol Burgan and husband, John of Cartersville, Georgia; one son, Donald Ray Shepard, Sr. and wife, Nancy of Lakeland, Florida; three brothers, Golden Shepard of Cadet, Missouri, Cleo Shepard and wife, Judy of Cadet, Missouri, Lloyd Shepard and wife Juanita of Cadet, Missouri; one sister, Lucille Sutton and husband, Calvin of Hillsboro, Missouri; six grandchildren, Lisa Owens, Jeremy Bailie, Shane Burgan, Tiffany Burgan, Kelly Allred and husband Shea and Donald Shepard, Jr., two great grandchildren, Caitlyn Burgan and Kaydence Allred. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Shepard, Richard Shepard, Elvis Shepard and two sisters, Mildred Fitzwater and Alcie Boyer.

James enjoyed riding motorcycles and driving stock cars at Potosi, Missouri. He was a member of the St. Joachim Catholic Church Old Mines, Missouri. James loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, March 14, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Donald Shepard, Sr., Jeremy Bailie, Shane Burgan, Shea Allred, Tommy Juliette and Kent Bourbon.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
