Cleo Edna Short
Cleo Edna Short of Potosi, Missouri was born in Shirley, Missouri on Wednesday October 9, 1929. The daughter of the late Willie T. and Fannie Mae (Yount) Compton. Cleo departed this life at her home in Potosi, Missouri on March 16, 2005. Having reached the age of seventy-five years five months and seven days.
Cleo was united in marriage on October 19, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri to George Allen Short who preceded his wife in death on March 13, 1999.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Henderson and husband Hank of Jefferson City, Missouri; son William “Bill” Short and wife Wanda of Potosi, Missouri; one brother, Gus Compton and wife Joyce of Bridgeton, Missouri; Seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers Leo, and Glen Compton.
Cleo enjoyed many things in life like doing all types of crafts, sewing, and she enjoyed staying at home and doing work around the house. Cleo was also very dedicated to taking care of her mother.
Visitation was held at the Moore Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday March 16, 2005 and 8:30 - 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 17,2005.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Moore Memorial Chapel in Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Jeff Richards officiating. Musical selections were provided by Jimmy Gilliam.
Burial was be in the White Oak Grove Cemetery, Shirley, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
