Luther Willard Skaggs
Luther Skaggs of Belgrade, Missouri was born on Thursday, June 23, 1927 in Fredericktown, Missouri a son of the late, Missouri Alice (Hargis) Skaggs and Henry Skaggs. Luther departed this life on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at his residence having reached the age of eighty-two years, tens months and nineteen days.
Luther is survived by one sister, Geraldine “Gerri” Barton and husband, Mike of Godfrey, Illinois; niece, Kimberly Barton of St. Louis, Missouri; nephew, Mike Barton of Godfrey, Illinois; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Luther was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton Skaggs and an infant brother and one sister, Virginia Skaggs.
Luther loved listening to bluegrass music and fiddling with his fiddle. He enjoyed driving and working on pickup trucks. Luther was a kindhearted man who would help anyone in a time of need.
Visitation was held Friday, May 14, 2010 from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Friday, May 14, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Wendell Nipper officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Antioch Cemetery, Fredericktown, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
