Rosetta Skaggs of Potosi, Missouri was born on Monday, November 15, 1926 in Shirley, Missouri a daughter of the late, Dove (Allen) Harmon and Walter L. Gibson. Rosetta departed this life on Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-five years and thirteen days.
Rosetta was united in marriage to Percy L. Skaggs, Sr. on February 11, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri and this union was blessed with three children.
Rosetta is survived by one daughter, Jeannie Bridgeman and husband, Don of Leadwood, Missouri; two sons, Percy Skaggs, Jr. of Potosi, Missouri, Ed Lawson and wife, Belinda of Arcadia, Missouri; four brothers, Harold Harmon and wife, Mary of Springtown, Missouri, Dearld Harmon of Leadwood, Missouri, Jimmy Harmon and wife, Carol of Leadwood, Missouri, Henry Harmon and wife, Judy of Gumbo, Missouri; one sister, Beulah Niswonger and husband, Earnest of Fenton, Missouri; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Rosetta was preceded in death by her loving husband, Percy L. Skaggs, Sr. on April 28, 2008, one brother, Donald Gibson, one sister, Lucy Skaggs and one granddaughter, Tonia Bridgeman.
Rosetta enjoyed working in her yard and sewing in her spare time. She loved spending time with her family and visiting with friends. Rosetta was a very kind woman who was always willing to help. She will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation was held Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Roger Skaggs officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Tracy Hovick, Robert Keay, Rick Hurt, Ronnie Bridgeman, Ernest Niswonger and Danny Pyatt.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
