Ronnie Leroy Skiles, Jr. of Potosi, MO was born on July 19, 1970 a son to Ronnie Skiles, Sr. and Sally (Ayres) Skiles. Ronnie departed this life Friday July 5, 2019 having reached the age of 48 years 11 months and 17 days.
Ronnie is survived by his parents Ronnie Sr. and Sally (Ayres) Skiles of Potosi; two children, son Ronnie Skiles, III of Desloge, MO, daughter Savannah House and husband Richard of Fort Campbell, KY, brother Andrew “Andy” Skiles and wife Betsy of Potosi, MO, one sister Andrea McCarty and husband Terry of Bonne Terre, MO two grandchildren Peyton Foley of Park Hills, MO and Isabella Skiles of Park Hills, MO. Nephews, Justin King and wife Railean of Doe Run, MO, Andrew “Drew” Skiles of Potosi, MO and Logan McCarty of Bonne Terre, MO. Nieces, Riley Skiles of Potosi, MO, Alyson Skiles of Potosi, MO and Macy McCarty of Bonne Terre, MO Great nephews, Jacob King of Doe Run, MO, Tristin King of Doe Run, MO and great niece Brooklyn King of Potosi, MO, and by many other relatives and friends. Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife Christina and one sister Brigetta Luther.
Ronnie served in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm. He enlisted September 30, 1988 and was honorably discharged September 22, 1999. During his service he obtained the rank of sergeant and was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, The National Defense Medal, the Army Lepel Button, Good Conduct medal, Kuwait Liberation Metal, Southwest Asia medal with three bronze stars. The NCO professional development ribbon, Army Commendation medal, Army Achievement Metal and several other honors and medals during his service. He was attached to the combat engineer battalion and was a nuclear and bio chemical officer.
Ronnie had a great love for his children and grandkids always ready to spend the day going on an adventure and the gifts of Mother Nature, hunting, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed spending time relaxing and caring for his beloved dog Dee.
