Nancy Kay Smith
Nancy Smith of Blackwell, Missouri was born on Monday, March 7, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of fifty-four years, three months and nineteen days.
Nancy was united in marriage to Marlon Smith on July 5, 2001 in Gumbo, Missouri.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Marlon Smith of Blackwell, Missouri; one daughter, Tina Moss of Desloge, Missouri; Mother, Helen (Immethun) Deering of Park Hills, Missouri; five sisters, Sharon Ellis of Festus, Missouri; Vivian Mack and husband, Nicky of Columbia, Missouri, Peggy Grammer and husband, George of Park Hills, Missouri, Judy Aubuchon of Park Hills, Missouri, Zina Jacobs of Park Hills, Missouri; one brother, Larry Keller of Chicora, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Jessica Moss of Desloge, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Nettie Hahn of Blackwell, Missouri, Gay Miller of Potosi, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Smith of Park Hills, Missouri, Benny Smith and wife, Delores of Dexter, Missouri; her faithful maltese companion, Romeo; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Harry “Bud” Deering and one sister, Rose Ann Deering.
Nancy loved Mother Nature, going fishing, mowing her lawn and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed listening to all types of music, watching soap operas and movies. Nancy also enjoyed traveling with her daughter, Tina and her granddaughter, Jessica. Nancy was loved by many people and will be dearly missed.
Visitation was held Monday, June 29, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend J.C. Moore officiating. Honoring Nancy by serving as pallbearers were: Mitch Bailey, Michael Brown, Ken Aubuchon, Larry Johnson, Buddy Johnson and Tyler Deering.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Horine Cemetery, Richwoods, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, Potosi, Missouri.
