Helen R. Sparks of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on Sunday, March 30, 1919 in Mineral Point, Missouri, a daughter of the late Frank and Rosalie (Politte) Coleman. Helen departed this life on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-seven years and ten months.

Helen was united in marriage to Jesse B. “J.B.” Sparks on April 15, 1940 in Potosi, Missouri at the St. James Catholic Church.

Helen is survived by one son, Jesse “Teto” Edward Sparks and wife Donna C. of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Kelly Cross and husband Kevin of St. Louis, Missouri, Kurt Sparks and wife Debbie of St. Louis, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Jacob and wife Sarah Jo, Zachery, Katie, Kyle, Kalin and two great great-grandchildren, Dylan and Audrie Jo also surviving are special nieces and nephews that were very much a part of her life. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosalie Coleman, husband, Jesse “J.B.” Sparks on March 2, 1999, two sisters, Clara Higgins and Nelie Elliott, two brothers, Leonard Coleman and Everett Coleman.

Helen was a life long member of the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri, where she was very dedicated to its service and activities. She loved to spend time visiting with her family and friends. Helen enjoyed sewing, making quilts and gardening. She was a very loving mother and dear friend to many who graced her home.

Visitation was held Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, February 2, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church, Potosi, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Calvary Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
