Dolores Mae Spurgeon

Dolores Mae Spurgeon of Potosi, Missouri formerly of Arnold, Missouri was born on June 26, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri a daughter of the late, Mable (Simmonds) Himmelmann and Otto Himmelmann. Dolores departed this life on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Center, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-one years, eight months and five days.

Dolores was united in marriage to Arnold Carl Spurgeon on July 29, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dolores is survived by one son, Dennis Arnold Spurgeon and wife, Cathy of Terre Du Lac, Missouri; one sister, Charlotte Klaser-Gower of Shawnee, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren; good friend, Bill Austin of Buffalo, Minnesota; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Spurgeon, one daughter, Susan Chaffin, three brothers, Roy Himmelmann, Otto Himmelmann and Earl Himmelmann.

Dolores enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardening. She loved to walk through her neighborhood in Terre Du Lac. Dolores will be forever remembered for her beautiful and contagious smile. The love and laughter that she willingly shared will never be forgotten by her family and friends.

Memorial Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Tisha Mundy officiating.

Inurnment will be held at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
