Leonard "Jiggs" Thebeau

Leonard “Jiggs” Sylvester Thebeau of Potosi, Missouri was born March 4, 1928 in Cadet, Missouri a son to the late Joseph Achan Thebeau and Mary Francis (Coleman) Thebeau. Leonard departed this life Tuesday, August 18, 2020 having reached the age of 92 years, 5 months and 14 days.
On April 28, 1956, Leonard was united in marriage to Irene (Govero) Thebeau and they were blessed with five children and many wonderful memories.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Irene; daughters, Sandy Northam and husband Lindy of Forsyth, Missouri, Karen Portell and husband David of St. Louis, Missouri, Vanessa Wiles (Jerry Boyer) of Desloge, Missouri, Colleen Shepard of Potosi, Missouri; son, Justin Thebeau (Margo Williams) of Hillsboro, Missouri; sisters, Rita Kamper and husband Carl of Cadet, Missouri, Geraldine Anselman of Cadet, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Blanche Thebeau of Eureka, Missouri, Elleen Thebeau of Cadet, Missouri, Emma Thebeau of Cadet, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thank you to lifelong friend Dickey Juliette.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by his brothers: Irvin (Dorothy) Thebeau, Nick Thebeau, Stanley (Vera) Thebeau, Charles Thebeau, Benny Thebeau, Raymond (Theresa) Thebeau, Ralph Thebeau; sisters, Theresa (Russell) Sampson, Louise (Henry) Missey, Peggy (Henry) Pruitt; brothers-in-law, Walter Golden, Robert Anselman and two great grandchildren, Nicholas Powers, Scout Merkel.
Leonard was a hard worker and a loving family man. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marines, having served from 1952-1954. He retired from DeSoto Armory and enjoyed working for Roy and Regina Brown. He loved going to church, having picnics, working outside, cutting wood and taking long scenic road rides. Above everything, he loved his family with all his heart and he will be greatly missed.
