Mary Theresa Thebeau
Mary Theresa Thebeau of Cadet, Missouri was born on Thursday, January 26, 1933 in Kingston, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Albert A. Merseal and Mary Lucy (Coleman) Merseal. Theresa departed this life on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, having reached the age of seventy-two years, six months, and four days.
Theresa was united in marriage to Raymond Anthony Thebeau on October 14, 1950 in Richwoods, Missouri, and to this union Theresa and Raymond were blessed to have eight children.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband; Raymond Anthony Thebeau of Cadet, Missouri, daughter; Julie Cordia and husband Robin of Columbia, Missouri, four sons; Paul “Pete” Thebeau and wife Cindy of DeSoto, Missouri, Joseph Albert Thebeau and wife Robin of Cadet, Missouri, Jamie Anthony Thebeau and wife Barbara of Potosi, Missouri, Peter Lynn Thebeau and wife Stacy of Richwoods, Missouri, two sisters; Mary Agnes DeClue of Blackwell, Missouri, Mary Lucille Guenther and husband Raymond of Granite City, Illinois, eleven grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters; Mary Ann Thebeau, Raynese Angela Thebeau, son; Ronald Lynn Thebeau, three brothers; Louis “Manny” Merseal, James Merseal, Thomas Jerome Merseal, two sisters; Julie Merseal, and one infant sister.
Theresa was Grandma not only to her own grandchildren, but many other children considered her grandma also, and she was very happy they all loved her so much. She was also very active with the children by volunteering her time at the St. Joachim Catholic School and teaching square dancing lessons there. She and Ray assisted in the T.A.A.P. throughout the state of Missouri teaching square dancing to hundreds of couples. She also loved gardening, quilting, and all types of sewing. She also made jelly which she would donate to St. Joachim fundraisers. She loved Mother Nature and enjoyed being in the outdoors; fishing, mushroom hunting, or picking blackberries. Theresa was a very caring, loving, generous woman who will be greatly missed by the many lives she has touched.
The family of Theresa Thebeau would like to thank the staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital for the loving and compassionate care they provided.

Visitation was Tuesday, August 2, 2005 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, August 3, 2005 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri, with Father Ted Pieper officiating.
Burial was in the St. Joachim Catholic Church Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.
A luncheon was provided for family and friends at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Old Mines, Missouri.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
