Mary Anne Thebeau of Farmington, Missouri, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois was born Tuesday January 31, 1939 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Wilbert Burton and the late Daisy (Barney) Burton. Mary Anne departed this life suddenly in Stockbridge, Georgia on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the age of Sixty-five Years, Nine Months and Eighteen Days.
Mary Anne was united in Marriage to Bernard E. Thebeau, Sr. May 5, 1970 in East S. Louis, Illinois. They were blessed to have Thirty-four years together.
Mary Anne is survived by her loving and devoted husband Bernard E. Thebeau, Sr. of Farmington, Missouri; her father, Wilbert Burton of Rolla, Missouri; two daughters, Gail Anne Gosa and life partner Tom Whitte of St. Charles, Missouri, Cheryl Sue Blevins and husband Wes of St. Charles, Missouri; three sons, William Ray Geiser and wife Nancy of Dutchtown, Missouri, Bernard E. Thebeau, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Belleville, Illinois, Michael C. Thebeau and wife Lea of Columbia, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren, Jacob and Erin Geiser, Lisa Powell, Kristin Welch, James M. Gosa, Jr., John Gosa, Kelsea, Allison and Emma Blevins, Bernard Thebeau III, Adam Thebeau, Claire and Caroline Thebeau; three great grandchildren, Bradley, Angela and David Powell and by many other relatives and friends.
Mary Anne had accepted Christ as her savior and was a member of the Holy Family Parish, Cahokia, Illinois. She was very active in the church including the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, C.Y.O. Moderator, President of the Holy Family School Board, Belleville Diocese School Board, Director of Holy Family Parish School of Religion, RCIA Teachers and a member of the Knights of Columbus Squires Organization’s Mothers Sponsor. She was also involved in the American Cancer Society Regional Chairperson of St. Clair County, Illinois. Mary Anne received her Associate Business Degree and was retired from the Federal Government as a Claims Analyst.
Mary Anne had a great love for her family and enjoyed all the times they spent together. She always loved to take time to shop for each of them and loved the many gatherings of birthdays and holidays. As her children grew and brought grandchildren and great grandchildren to her, you could see the happiness of a fulfilled life. She was very proud of each of her children and grandchildren. Mary Anne and Bernie had a great love for each other, this love grew over the span of thirty-four years and will continue to grow through the teachings to their children.
A Memorial Visitation was held Tuesday, November 23, 2004 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Memorial Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating. Music was provided by the St. Joachim Church Choir. Following the Mass the family and friends had a luncheon at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Old Mines, Missouri.
Final Prayers and Burial was Saturday, November 27, 2004 at the Rolla City Cemetery, Rolla, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
