Mary Ellen Thompson (Phares)

Mary Ellen (Phares) Thompson of Potosi, Missouri was born November 12, 1935 in Portland, Oregon a daughter to the late Jessie Phares and Irene Phares. Mary departed this life Thursday November 14, 2019 having reached the age of 84 years and 2 days.
Mary was united in marriage to Oren Thompson, Jr. and to this union six children were born.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Shirley Thompson of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, Janiece Vandergriff and husband Berry of Cadet, Missouri; four sons: Dan Thompson and wife Debbie of O’Fallon, Missouri, Rick Thompson and wife Lydia of Potosi, Missouri, Bill Thompson and wife Kathy of Hillsboro, Missouri, Lee Thompson and wife Tracy of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; four sisters Julia Colbert, Beverly, Judy, Jean, twelve grandchildren, sixteen greatgrandchildren and many other nieces, nephews relatives and friends
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sister Doris; three brothers, Ben Phares, Bill Phares, and Oliver Phares.
Mary had a caring and loving heart, making sure everyone was taken care of. She worked for many as a nurse aid helping in many hospital departments. She was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan, watching every game and post season update. She loved her family and always had others in her thoughts and prayers. She had a solid faith in Jesus and was not afraid to tell anyone about it. Her caring nature, love and devotion to help other will be greatly missed by all.
