Joseph H. "Joe" Tiefenauer of Caledonia, Missouri, was born September 23, 1941, in Caledonia, Missouri, a son of Mary Frances (Hockinghomer) Tiefenauer and the late William Fred Tiefenauer. Joe departed this life suddenly Wednesday, March 17, 2004, having reached the age of sixty-two years, five months and twenty-four days.
Joe was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Rothlisberger on January 12, 1963, she preceded him in death on May 23, 1978. He was united in marriage to Denise Renee Taylor on April 18, 1998, in Caledonia, Missouri.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Denise Tiefenauer of Caledonia, Missouri, his mother, Mary Frances Tiefenauer, of Potosi, Missouri, One daughter, Cynthia Aldridge of Caledonia, Missouri; Two step daughters, Tabitha Vangennip and husband Christopher of Delta, Missouri, Dr. Tiffany Landrum of Caledonia, Missouri, two sons, William Joseph Tiefenauer of Caledonia, Missouri, Gary Christopher Tiefenauer and wife Krista of Caledonia, Missouri, three brothers, Calbert William Tiefenauer and wife Carolyn of Caledonia, Missouri, Frederick AMax@ Tiefenauer and wife Alma of Caledonia, Missouri, Johnnie Noel Tiefenauer and wife Jean of Greenfield, Massachusetts, nine grandchildren, Marc Brewer of Alexandria, Virginia, Daniel Brewer of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Sarah Brewer of Caledonia, Missouri, Machela Gibbons of Delta, Missouri, Seth Tiefenauer of Caledonia, Missouri, Kodee Aldridge of Caledonia, Missouri, Brianna Landrum of Caledonia, Missouri, Tiffany Tiefenauer of Caledonia, Missouri, Josie Landrum of Caledonia, Missouri, a sister-in-law, Ellen Tiefenauer of Caledonia, Missouri, a sister-in-law, Juanita Jarvis of Salem, Missouri, his mother and father-in-law, Wanda and Buck Taylor of Caledonia, Missouri, and by many other relatives and friends. In addition to his father and first wife he was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald James Tiefenauer and by one sister, Mary Jane Tiefenauer.
Joe had accepted Christ as his savior and was a member of the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Caledonia, Missouri. Joe served as an Elder of the Chruch.
Joe was a member of the Tyro Masonic Lodge, Caledonia, Missouri. He enjoyed spending time in the out doors hunting and fishing. He would spend many hours walking in the woods of his farm enjoying the many gifts of mother nature.
Joe had a great love for cars and was a member of the Roar`n 30's Car Club and loved to go and spend time at the many different car shows.
Joe had a kind and open heart, he was always ready to lend a hand to help or just listen to one for hours.
Visitation was held Friday, March 19, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri and Saturday, March 20, 2004 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Caledonia, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Caledonia, Missouri, with Reverend John Lands and Reverend Rodney Hatton. Music was provided by Bill and Rhonda Harpole.
Final prayers and burial was at the Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Leading the Funeral Procession was members and friends of the Roar`n 30's Car Club. Pallbearers serving in Joe=s honor was Gary Tiefenauer, Joe Tiefenauer, Marc Brewer, Daniel Brewer, Christopher VanGennip and David Tiefenauer. Following the services at the cemetery, family and friends returned to the Bellevue Presbyterian Church and enjoyed a meal and more fellowship.
Funeral services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, MO.
