William "Bill" Tiefenauer

WILLIAM TIEFENAUER
WILLIAM "BILL" FRED TIEFENAUER OF CALEDONIA, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT MUNGER, MISSOURI ON FEBRUARY 21, 1913. HE WAS THE SON OF THE LATE JOSEPH AND MAUDE MAE (LEE) TIEFENAUER. BILL DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT THE POTOSI MANOR IN POTOSI, MISSOURI ON APRIL 1, 2003 AT THE AGE OF NINETY YEARS, ONE MONTH AND EIGHT DAYS.
BILL WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO MARY FRANCES HOCKINGHOMER ON OCTOBER 25, 1936 IN HILLSBORO, MISSOURI AND TO THIS UNION SIX CHILDREN WERE BORN.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE FRANCES TIEFENAUER OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, SONS, CALBERT WILLIAM TIEFENAUER AND WIFE CAROLYN OF CALEDONIA, MISSOURI, JOSEPH HAROLD TIEFENAUER AND WIFE DENISE OF CALEDONIA, MISSOURI, FREDERICK "MAX" TIEFENAUER AND WIFE ALMA OF CALEDONIA, MISSOURI AND JOHNNIE NOEL TIEFENAUER AND WIFE JEAN OF GREENFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS, BROTHERS, SETH RAYMOND "SHANTY" TIEFENAUER AND WIFE BETTY OF CALEDONIA, MISSOURI, LUTHER LONNIE TIEFENAUER AND WIFE RUTH OF BISMARCK, MISSOURI, JACK TIEFENAUER AND WIFE BETTIE OF CALEDONIA, MISSOURI, SISTERS, LUCILLE EVANS AND HUSBAND RICHARD OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA AND LILLIAN BURRIS AND HUSBAND MONROE OF BELLEVILLE, ILLINOIS, TWENTY GRANDCHILDREN, TWENTY-SEVEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, DAUGHTER-IN- LAW AND ELLEN TIEFENAUER OF CALEDONIA, MISSOURI. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS DAUGHTER, MARY JANE TIEFENAUER, SON, DONALD JAMES TIEFENAUER, BROTHERS, EARL TIEFENAUER AND CLIFFORD LESTER TIEFENAUER, SISTERS, DORA TURNER AND ESTILINE ROSSEN, TWO GRANDCHILDREN, THREE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, SHARON KAY TIEFENAUER.
BILL WAS A LONG TIME MEMBER OF THE BELLEVUE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH WHERE HE HAS SERVED AS DEACON, ELDER, SUNDAY SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT AND CHURCH TREASURER. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE TYRO MASONIC LODGE #12 WHERE HE SERVED AS PAST MASTER, WITH ONE OF HIS PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS, CREATING HIS OWN MASONIC RING. BILL LOVED HIS FAMILY AND ENJOYED SHARING HIS GIFT OF MUSIC WITH THEM BY PLAYING SEVERAL INSTRUMENTS INCLUDING THE FRENCH HARP, MANDOLIN, GUITAR AND BANJO.
HE WAS EMPLOYED ON THE FAMILY FARM, AT A JOHN DEERE DEALERSHIP IN PILOT KNOB, AT GENERAL CABLE IN ST. LOUIS, SELF EMPLOYED WITH HIS OWN MACHINE SHOP, AT MILCHEM MINING COMPANY AND DRESSER MINERALS AND RETIRED AT THE AGE OF 62. HE WILL BE LOVINGLY REMEMBERED BY FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
VISITATION WAS HELD 5:00 PM TO 9:00 PM ON THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 2003 AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI WITH MASONIC MEMORIAL SERVICE HELD AT 7:00 PM. VISITATION WAS ALSO HELD 11:00 AM TO 1:30 PM ON FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2003 AT THE BELLEVUE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, CALEDONIA, MISSOURI.
A FUNERAL SERVICE WAS CONDUCTED AT 1:30 PM ON FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2003 AT THE BELLEVUE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH WITH REV. JOHN LANDS OFFICIATING. PRELUDE MUSIC BY BETTY MORRIS. SONGS DURING THE SERVICE WERE; AMAZING GRACE, HOW GREAT THOU ART AND I'LL FLY AWAY PERFORMED BY RHONDA AND BILL HARPOLE. BURIAL WAS IN THE BELLEVUE PRESBYTERIAN CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOMES, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, GARY TIEFENAUER, JOE TIEFENAUER, STEVEN TIEFENAUER, CALE TIEFENAUER, DAVID TIEFENAUER AND LARRY LUTHER TIEFENAUER. SERVING AS HONORARY PALLBEARERS WERE, JACK TIEFENAUER, LUTHER TIEFENAUER, SETH TIEFENAUER, DOMINIC MERS, DANIEL BREWER AND MARC BREWER.
