Mabel Lou Tinker

Mabel Lou Tinker of Potosi, Missouri was born on Wednesday, August 25, 1926 in Potosi, Missouri a daughter of the late, Edith Mae (Dotson) Nicholson and William Sloman Nicholson. Mabel departed this life on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-five years, four months and twenty days.
Mabel was united in marriage to Cloied “Sonny” Tinker on September 28, 1942 in Farmington, Missouri and were blessed with two children.
Mabel is survived by one daughter, Beverly Flora and husband, Ernie of Lonedell, Missouri; one son, Larry Tinker and wife, Linda of Gilbert, Arizona; one sister, June Boyer and husband, John of Potosi, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kevin, Dana, Brent and Brad; eleven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Madison, Jordan, Garett, Olivia, Jared, Logan, Megan, Statton, Harrison and Kai; one great-great-grandchild, Kennadi; sister-in-law, Tommie Rowe of Potosi, Missouri; brother-in-law, Ed Rowe of Potosi, Missouri; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Cloied “Sonny” Tinker, four sisters, Helen Halley, Edith Mercer, Chloe Buxton, Mary Leah Boyer, brother, Stanley Nicholson, brother-in-law, Tom Rowe and sister-in-law, Glenda Rowe.
Mabel and Sonny were the owners and operators of Tinker Grocery Store for several years in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. She also worked as a clerk in many area grocery stores and was an Avon sales representative for many years. Mabel loved to bake and share pies with her family and friends. She also loved to visit with anyone and spending time with her family and attending church at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, Potosi, Missouri. Mabel was a very generous woman who would help anyone in need and will be very deeply missed by her family and friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Tim Thebeau and Reverend Carl Wilson officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Kevin Malugen, Jake Malugen, Brad Tinker, Jordan Malugen, Rick Boyer and Kirk Boyer.
Memorials are to be directed to the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 10085 Pleasant Hill Rd., Potosi, MO 63664.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
