Magdalene Trokey of Mineral Point, Missouri was born Wednesday, February 22, 1911 in Quaker, Missouri a daughter of the late Fannie (Beers) Vance and Frank Vance. Magdalene departed the life on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital at the age of Ninety-five Years, Five Months and Twenty-one Days.
Magdalene was united in marriage to the late Lloyd C. Trokey on April 20, 1930 in Cadet, Missouri.
Magdalene is survived by two loving and devoted daughters, Dorothy Eaves and husband Henry of Hopewell, Missouri, Janet Adams and husband Dean of Potosi, Missouri; three sons, Frank Trokey and wife Lohma of Potosi, Missouri, Lindell Trokey and wife Phyllis of Parsons, Kansas, Ronald Trokey and wife Brenda Sue of Florissant, Missouri; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and by many other dear and special relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Ann Trokey; one son, Lloyd Trokey, Jr.; one great granddaughter; four sisters, Mary Warren, Florence Vance, Hattie Abney, Lucille Trokey; two brothers, John Vance, Fred Johnston.
Magdalene had accepted Christ as her savior and was a member of the Potosi Assembly of God Church, Potosi, Missouri.
Prior to her retirement, she worked in the laundry department at Washington County Memorial Hospital. She loved to spend time working in the garden and yard. She enjoyed quilting and conversations at length. One of her greatest loves was her family and especially the grandchildren. Each of them could bring a smile to her face and make her eyes sparkle.
Visitation was held Sunday, August 13, 2006 from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, August 14, 2006 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Monday, August 14, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Bill Warren officiating. Serving as pallbearers were; Gary Eaves, Shaun Thompson, Fred Trokey, Larry Trokey, Kevin Trokey and Steve Trokey.
Burial took place in the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
