Emma L. Turnbough
Emma Louise “Emmy” Turnbough of Potosi, Missouri was born Friday, March 12, 1926 in Frankclay, Missouri a daughter of the late Lucille (Lawson) Glore and Charlie Glore. Emmy departed this life on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri at the age of Eighty-four years, Three months and Fourteen days.
Emmy was united in marriage to the late Willie “Buzz” Turnbough on August 8, 1942 in Ironton, Missouri. They were blessed to have five children born to the union.
Emmy is survived by her loving and dedicated children, three daughters, Barbara Hensen and husband Raymond of Dittmer, Missouri, Thelma Turnbough of Londell, Missouri and Chris Adams and husband Ted of Potosi, Missouri; two sons, Edward Turnbough and wife Trish of Cave City, Arkansas and Willie Turnbough and wife Becky of Desloge, Missouri, nine grandchildren, Tina Darnell, Kelly Hensen, Christopher Potter, David Turnbough, Jamie Turnbough, Kim Katzenberger, Krista Hulsey, Andrea Walton and Taylor Adams, two step grandchildren, Robert Brockway and Clint Brockway, nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nephews, Charles Cole, Reed Dudley and wife Ruth, Tommy Turnbough and Neil Turnbough, nieces Robin Essmeyer and Alice Turnbough, dear and special caregiver, Connie Bradley and by many other relatives and dear friends and wonderful neighbors. In addition to her parents and dear and loving husband, Emmy was also preceded in death by five sisters, Cora Forrester, Etta Forrester, Zetta Cole, Mae McClain and Altice Choate and three brothers, Stanley Glore, Henan Glore and Otto Glore.
Emmy had professed her faith in Christ and was Baptized in her youth and attended the Church of God in Potosi.
Emmy had a great love for family and friends and would always offer a loving shoulder and a kind word for them. In her younger years she enjoyed going to flea markets and grocery shopping. She loved to take time and read all types of books and watch soap operas and the “Wheel of Fortune”. She loved to spend time visiting and talking with her neighbors in town. Emmy was very proud and loved the time she lived with her daughter Chris and her husband Ted. The love and care shown to her by everyone, especially her granddaughters Taylor, Kim and Andrea was warmth to her heart.
Emmy was a remarkable person, not only for her longevity, but also for the intensity and clarity of focus with which she lived her life. She will always be remembered for the love she shared.
Visitation was held Monday, June 28, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend John Garland officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial was held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri. Honoring Emma by serving as Pallbearers were Tyson Walton, Andy Katzenberger, David Turnbough, Jamie Turnbough, Kelly Hensen and Adam Coleman.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri
