HAROLD E. VANCE OF POTOSI, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT MARQUAND, MISSOURI ON APRIL 14, 1941. HE WAS THE SON OF THE LATE ELSIE MAE (MYERS) PROPST AND RAY VANCE. HAROLD DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT ST. LOUIS UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF SIXTY ONE YEARS, SIX MONTHS AND TWENTY EIGHT DAYS.
HAROLD WAS A LOVING AND CARING MAN WHO WAS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP A FRIEND. HE WAS KNOWN TO MANY AS THE JACK OF ALL TRADES. HE ENJOYED WORKING WITH MACHINES AND WAS ALWAYS READY FOR A DAY TO RELAX AND FISH. HAROLD SERVED OUR COUNTRY IN THE UNITED STATES ARMY IN THE VIETNAM-ERA FROM JANUARY 16, 1964 TO JANUARY 15, 1965 RECEIVING AN HONORABLE DISCHARGE AND HAVING A RANK OF PRIVATE FIRST CLASS. HAROLD WILL BE SADLY MISSED BY MANY LOVING FRIENDS.
VISITATION FOR HAROLD WAS 9:00 AM TO 11:00 AM ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2002 AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
A FUNERAL SERVICE WAS CONDUCTED 11:00 AM AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH REVEREND BOB BULLOCK OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN THE CALVARY CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE STEVE WICKER, CLIFTON JO WICKER, MARK WICKER, KEVIN VANCE, GARY AMES, BRIANT WICKER, ALLEN WICKER AND MITCH SOBBA.
