Dorothy Jean Villmer
Dorothy Jean Villmer of Richwoods, Missouri was born on Wednesday, October 22, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri a daughter of the late, Mary (Klauber) Recar and Philip Neri DeClue. Dorothy Jean departed this life on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the St. Johns Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-six years, eleven months and nineteen days.
Dorothy Jean was united in marriage to Joseph Walter “Walt” Villmer on May 6, 1950 in Richwoods, Missouri.
Dorothy Jean is survived by five daughters, Mary Studdard and husband, Herman of Sullivan, Missouri, Shirley Moore and husband, Rick of Fenton, Missouri, Susan Brueggemann and husband, James of Union, Missouri, Donna Timmerman of Macon, Missouri, Peggy Reichardt and husband, Kenny of Richwoods, Missouri; four sons, Steven Villmer and wife, Barbara of Richwoods, Missouri, Jeffery Villmer and wife, Billye of Richwoods, Missouri, Scott Villmer and wife, Leah of Cedar Hill, Missouri, David Villmer and wife, Stephanie of Richwoods, Missouri; one brother, Philip Urban DeClue and wife, Robin of West Plains, Missouri; twenty-nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four brothers-in-law, Joe Zinc of Dillonvale, Ohio, Albert Villmer of Richwoods, Missouri, David Lester “Pete” Villmer and wife, Doris of Richwoods, Missouri, James “Sonny” Rogers of Lonedell, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Rose Friend and husband, Claude of Luebbering, Missouri and Irene Wells and husband, Chet of Richwoods, Missouri. In addition to her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Walt” Villmer on January 2, 1997, one sister, Helen Marie Zink and three infant great grandchildren.
Dorothy was a retired teacher from the Richwoods R-7 School in 1992. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Dorothy loved visiting people, making rosaries for the sick and would do anything to help anyone in need. Dorothy also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, doing needlepoint and embroidering blocks. She would relax watching old western movies. Dorothy lived for children and loved them greatly. She was a member of the St. Stephens Catholic Church, Richwoods, Missouri. Dorothy will always be remembered for the love she shared.
Visitation was held Friday, October 12, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, October 13, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the St. Stephen Catholic Church, Richwoods, Missouri with Father Robert Liss officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Robbie Pendegraft, Charles Villmer, Luke Arnold, Bud Godat, Joe Studdard, Mickey Villmer, Billy Joe Villmer and Wally Bequette.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery, Richwoods, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
