Donna Kay (Portell) Voelker of Mineral Point, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on Tuesday, October 8, 1957 and departed this life on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Barnes Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of forty-eight years, nine months and twenty-five days.
Donna is survived by her fiancé, Ray Beck of Mineral Point, Missouri; parents, Alice Mae (Price) Portell and Bob Nelson Portell of Cadet, Missouri; daughter, Tiffany D. (Hill) Read and husband David of Arnold, Missouri; son, Jacob Edward Voelker of St. Louis, Missouri; three brothers, Bobby Nelson Portell, Jr. and wife Tammy of Mineral Point, Missouri, Michael Anthony Portell of St. Louis, Missouri, Mark Kent Portell of Cadet, Missouri; three grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Lillian Kay; best-friend, Janet Hayes of Cadet, Missouri and her loving pet cat, Boo Boo. Donna was preceded in death by daughter, Jacklyn Kay Hill, and son, Steven Hill, Jr.
Donna had accepted Christ as her Savior and attended the Potosi Southern Baptist Church, Potosi, Missouri. She enjoyed all types of activities, doing jigsaw puzzles, reading V.C. Andrews books, watching Katherine Hepburn and Henry Fonda Movies and especially playing word games. Donna loved to do all types of crafts including, jewelry beadwork, stitching and hair pieces. She enjoyed the many gifts of mother nature, spending time listening to the birds and her flower gardens. Donna was always up for going to yard sales or the flea markets. She was an avid bear collector and she also enjoyed watching the falling snow in the Winter. Donna loved her family deeply and spending time with them brought her great joy.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 4, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, August 5, 2006 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend John Edwards officiating.
Burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Doug Beck, Jim Coleman, Danny Boyer, Khris Boyer, John Elsey and Brian Heisner.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
