Katherine Lynn Vollet
Katherine Lynn Vollet of Potosi, Missouri was born on September 21, 1940 in Salinas, California. She was the daughter of the late Lyman Griffiths and Katherine V. (Bass) Griffiths. Katherine departed this life on November 26, 2005 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Festus, Missouri having reached the age of sixty-five years, two months, and five days.
Katherine was united in marriage to Joseph Michael Vollet on May 7, 1960 in Buffalo, New York, and to this union they were blessed with four children.
Katherine is survived by two daughters, Michelle Hawkins and husband Brent of Potosi, Missouri, Mary Jo Midgett and husband Paul of Belgrade, Missouri, two sons, Mark Vollet of DeSoto, Missouri, Michael Vollet and wife Angie of Hazlewood, Missouri, two brothers Eddie Griffiths of Yucha Valley, California, and Peter Griffiths and wife Nancy of Topeka, Kansas, fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, dear friend Ron Cooley of Potosi, Missouri, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joseph Vollet.
Katherine loved visiting with her family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren, and always being surrounded by her many loved ones. She enjoyed watching soaps especially the Young and the Restless, sewing, and working outside in her garden. Katherine loved the holidays and making chocolate holiday candies. She never said a bad word about anyone and left the past in the past. She was always gifted with a positive outlook on everything and tried to instill her way of thinking to her wonderful family. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Visitation was held Monday, November 28, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, November 29, 2005 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Father George Galovich officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Justin Sadler, Logan Midgett, Lance Midgett, Mark Vollet, Jeremy Vollet, and Kevin Vollet.
Burial tool place in the Calvary Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
