Jessi Maxine Waeltz

Jessi Maxine Waeltz of Stilwell, Oklahoma was born on Monday, May 29, 1933 in Potosi, Missouri a daughter of the late, Julie Ann (Hicks) Smith and Jessie James Smith. Jessi departed this life on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the South Crest Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma having reached the age of seventy-eight years, eight months and fifteen days.

Jessi was united in marriage to Leonard Waeltz and together they had eighteen children.

In addition to her parents Jessi was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Waeltz, three daughters, Linda Walker, Kimmy Lawson, Margaret Waeltz, one grandchild, Jessie Waeltz, three great-grandchildren, James Winick, Loralie and Tapanga Winick, two brothers, Grandville Skiles, Theodore Skiles and one sister, Myrtle “Tubbs” Smith.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are eight daughters, Janice Winick and husband, Dale of Mineral Point, Missouri, Jaci Waeltz of Gans, Oklahoma, Wilma Richard of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Sandra Waeltz of Flippen, Arkansas, Dolly Bridges and husband, Joel of Clarkshill, South Carolina, Betty Madding of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Mary Waeltz of Hephsiban, Georgia, Julie Waeltz; seven sons, Earl Waeltz and wife, Vernita of Potosi, Missouri, Mike Waeltz and wife, Debra of Attica, Indiana, Ricky Waeltz, David Waeltz and wife, Nina of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Kelly Waeltz and wife, Linda of Decatur, Arkansas, Virgil Waeltz and wife, Cheryl of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas, Leonard Waeltz of Jay, Oklahoma; one sister, Margaret “Crickett” Boyer of Farmington, Missouri; two brothers, Henry Skiles of DeSoto, Mssouri, John “Buck” Smith; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jessie was raised by two very Christian parents who were Cherokee and Black Foot Indian. Jessi loved Mother Nature and her many gifts. She enjoyed listening to country music, cooking and going to yard sales. In her spare time Jessi enjoyed watching old westerns and wrestling. Jessi also enjoyed collecting dolls, doing crosswords, word searches and embroidering. Jessi also enjoyed just sitting with friends and family talking about anything and everything. She was and always will be greatly loved and missed by many.

Visitation was held Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Robert Wade.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Dale Winick, Jr., Steven Marler, Denny Smith, Steve Bulger, Josh Waeltz, Sam Waeltz, Daniel Smith and Nathan Rulo.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
