Norma Ruth Walton (McConnell)

Norma Ruth Walton of Potosi, MO was born January 21, 1932 in Butts, MO a daughter to the late Charles J. McConnell and Edna Jean (Wigger) McConnell. Norma departed this life Saturday August 3, 2019 having reached the age of 87 years, 6 months and 13 days.
On February 10, 1952 Norma was united in marriage to the late David Walton
Norma is survived by one daughter Mary Ruth Barton and husband Steven of Potosi, MO. Daughter-in-law Nancy Walton of Kansas City, MO, One sister Charline Pind and husband Carl of Festus, MO, one brother Clarence “Duke” McConnell and wife Elizabeth of Salem, MO, six grandchildren Kara Beth, Krista, Brooke, James, Evelyn and Joseph, six Great grandchildren Joshua, Nikolas, Chelsea, Isaiah, Natalia and Sofia
In addition to her loving husband and parents, Norma was preceded in death by one son David Lee Walter Jr, one sister Mary Ellen McConnell, two brothers William C. McConnell and P.L. McConnell.
Norma was a caring and generous woman who was always there to help. She worked for 45 years for the state of Missouri in family service and was a dedicated member of the Potosi Southern Baptist Church. Norma loved her fellowship and enjoyed cooking for church functions. She was a master with a needle and thread. She could crochet any article of clothing and patch and repair anything tattered brought to her. Norma sincerely treasured her time with her family and grandchildren. Her love and compassion will be greatly missed by all.
