Vernon Warden of Potosi, Missouri was born on Tuesday, February 9, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late, Rachel Mary (Sansoucie) Warden and James Warden. Vernon departed this life on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of sixty-seven years, eight months and nineteen days.
Vernon was united in marriage to Phyllis Lea Marler on July 6, 1963 and this union was blessed with three daughters.
Vernon is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Warden of Potosi, Missouri; three daughters, Beth Bradley and husband, Garick of Cadet, Missouri, Tracy Nappier and friend, Jim of DeSoto, Missouri, Denise Walton and husband, Mark of Potosi, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Derek, Justin, Marcus, Melinda, Brett, Sydney; six great grandchildren, Landon, Matthew, Trenton, Olivia, Noah and Carter; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Joseph Warden.
Prior to his retirement, Vernon was employed with the Washington County Memorial Hospital in the X-ray department. He was able to be involved in many aspects and jobs there throughout his career. His knowledge and professional input into the x-ray field were utilized as the department expanded throughout the years. He took great pride in working for the people of this area at the hospital.
Vernon enjoyed spending time outdoors going hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing golf and softball and watching all sports on television. Vernon loved his family and the time they spent together, he will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation was held Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 12:30 PM with Father Ted Pieper officiating at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
