Alma E. Watson
Alma Ernestine Watson of Potosi, Missouri was born Thursday, April 27, 1916 in Caledonia, Missouri, a daughter of the late Mary Jane (Weeks) Talley and Joseph Walter Talley. Alma departed this life at the Potosi, Manor, Potosi, Missouri on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the age of Eighty-seven Years, Ten months and Nine days.
Alma was united in marriage to Harold William Watson March 20, 1934 in Caledonia, Missouri. They were blessed to have Thirty-six years together. Harold preceded his wife in death on February 25, 1970.
Alma is survived by Four daughters, Bonnie Williams and husband James of Bunker, Missouri, Bessie Breakfield and husband Eddie of Shirley, Missouri, Ethel Jarvis and husband Jerry of Potosi, Missouri, Judy Wright and husband James of Farmington, Missouri; Two sons, Harvey Watson and wife Virginia of Blackwell, Missouri and Lloyd “Paul” Watson and wife Susan of Bourbon, Missouri; Thirty-three Grandchildren, Sixty-two Great Grandchildren, Eight Great Great Grandchildren; Daughter-in-law Ruthie Watson of Potosi, Missouri and by many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Alma was also preceded in death by One son, Harold Clinton Watson; One Grandson and Six sisters, Clara Huitt, Mildred Hull, Laura Hays, Levy Talley, Lattie Talley and Fairy Talley and by One brother Infant Joseph Talley.
Alma was a member of the Bunker Hill Baptist Church and always enjoyed the fellowship at the Church.
Alma had a great love for her family and was always ready to open her heart and home to them and their many friends. She enjoyed each visit and looked forward to the next. Alma loved to listen to music and join in and sing. She would spend time crocheting and quilting to be able to share her work with others.
Visitation was held Sunday, March 7, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, March 8, 2004 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral Services were held Monday, March 8, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with the Reverend David Welker officiating. Musical selections were “Where the Roses Never Fade” sang by Belinda Drennen and “High Up On a Mountain” sang by Kevin Wright, Pianist was Susan Masters.
Final prayers and Burial was in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Henry Watson, Rocky Williams, Curtis Watson, Mark Breakfield, Len Jarvis and Jason Wright.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
