Donald Ray Watson
Donnie “Red” Watson of Potosi, Missouri was born on May 11, 1962 in Potosi, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of forty-five years, three months and fifteen days.
Donnie is survived by his mother, Eilene Wader of Belgrade, Missouri; two sons, Matthew David Phares of Potosi, Missouri, Dakota Michael Watson of Smyrna, Pennsylvania; four sisters, Carolyn Thurman and husband Patrick of Branson, Missouri, Brenda Levall and husband Dennis of Salem, Missouri, Yvonne DeWater and husband Jeff of Branson, Missouri, Crystal Watson and fiancé Bobby Golden of Potosi, Missouri; three brothers, Henry Watson and Rhonda Rulo of Belgrade, Missouri, David Watson and wife Angie of Waterloo, Iowa, Joe Watson and wife Melodye of Blue Eye, Missouri; one granddaughter, Lily Phares of Potosi, Missouri; girlfriend, Joanne Bridges and her son Brandon Eckhoff of Potosi, Missouri; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Clinton Watson and stepmother, Ruthie Watson.
“Red” loved Mother Nature and taking care of all animals. He enjoyed riding horses and won the first Para-Mutual Horse Race in the state of Missouri at Sedalia. “Red” was saved at the age of ten years old while attending the Fletcher, Missouri Baptist Church. He also enjoyed fishing, dancing and traveling all over the United States. “Red” will be very lovingly missed by the many lives he has touched.
Visitation was held Thursday, August 30, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, August 31, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Friday, August 31, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor Davey Welker officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Henry Watson, David Watson, Joe Watson, Jerrod Levall, Matthew Phares, Keith Wideman, Paul Watson and Justin Weir.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
