Garry Lee West
Garry Lee West of Potosi, Missouri was born on January 14, 1947 in Ironton, Missouri. Garry departed this life on May 10, 2005 at his residence, having reached the age of fifty-eight years, three months, and twenty-seven days.
Garry was united in marriage to Mary Pat (Malloy) West on August 5, 1972 in Yukon, Missouri. To this union Mary Pat and Garry were blessed with three sons.
Gary is survived by his wife; Mary Pat West of Potosi, Missouri, mother; Theresa (Remion) West of Potosi, Missouri, three sons; Brian West and wife Amy of Wentzville, Missouri, Jason West of O’Fallon, Missouri, Justin West of O’Fallon, Missouri, two sisters; Janet Sebring and husband Bob of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, Renee Strong and husband Todd of Imperial, Missouri, two brothers; Stanley “Butch” H. West Jr. and wife Carole of El Paso, Texas, Jerry West and wife Brenda of Potosi, Missouri, granddaughter; Katelynn West, mother-in-law; Mary Lou Malloy of Edmund, Oklahoma, two brothers-in-law; Bill and Malinda Malloy of Wilmett, Illinois, Bob and Jane Malloy of Red Oak, Texas, two sisters-in-law; Amy and Kevin McGee of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Anne West of Arizona. Garry was preceded in death by his father; Stanley Haskel West Sr., brother; Larry West, and father-in-law; Jack Malloy Jr.
Garry was very well known throughout the community by his many friends as being one of the most honest men and was appreciated for his caring and generous attitude toward anyone he met. The love he had for his family was always first and foremost in his life and clearly evident to anyone who was privileged to know him. Garry enjoyed “boating” and spending time with his family and friends, whether it was at home or on the water. He loved collecting antiques, woodworking, and tinkering with and restoring old cars. Garry was a long time member of St. James Catholic Church. He was an employee and co-owner of Boyer Hardware and Lumber Company. Garry will always be remembered for his quick wit, his humor, and his love for life and dedication for all mankind.
A memorial visitation was held on Friday, May 13, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, May 14, 2005 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Potosi, Missouri, with Father George Galovich officiating.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
