Barbara Ellen White
Barbara White of Fredericktown, Missouri formerly of Irondale, Missouri was born on Tuesday, July 4, 1933 in Desloge, Missouri a daughter of the late, Beulah (Welch) Horton and Harold Horton. Barbara departed this life on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the St. Joseph Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-four years, nine months and twenty-seven days.
Barbara was united in marriage to David Emmett White on February 8, 1952 in Irondale, Missouri and they were blessed with eleven children.
Barbara is survived by three daughters, Jackie Taylor and husband, John of St. Clair, Missouri, Pamela White of Farmington, Missouri, Anita Matzker and husband, Joe of Patterson, Missouri; seven sons, Donald White and wife, Audrey of Rome, New York, David White of Pensacola, Florida, Jesse White and wife, Connie of Farmington, Missouri, Michael White and wife, Mary of Bismarck, Missouri, Steven White and wife, Patti of Potosi, Missouri, Joseph White and wife, Renee of Glasgow, Kentucky, Ronald White and wife, Tracy of Bonne Terre, Missouri; four sisters, Brenda McLeod of Potosi, Missouri, Linda McLeod and husband, Joe of Irondale, Missouri, Joyce O’Neail and husband, Gale of Irondale, Missouri, Karen Barton and Bill Bowling of Irondale, Missouri; two brothers, Kenneth Horton and wife, Deanna of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Harold Horton and wife, Diane of Irondale, Missouri; thirty grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. David Emmett White, one son, Thomas White and one great grandson, Eric Warren.
Barbara enjoyed attending the Mount Olive Baptist Church, Piedmont, Missouri and serving her Lord. She also enjoyed going fishing, singing in church and at home. She was a member of “Sweet Adelines”. Barbara loved cooking for large family gatherings and spending time with her wonderful family. She looked forward to eating lunch on Saturdays with her grandson, Ronnie at Stockoff Memorial Nursing Center in Fredericktown, Missouri.
Barbara was a woman filled with tremendous love, showing it to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by her immediate family, her extended family and everyone who was fortunate and blessed to know her.
Visitation was held Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Lindell Sikes officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were; Jeremy Matzker, Jesse White Jr., Justin White, Jason Aldridge, Jacob Buerk, Michael White Jr., Josh Buerk and Robbie White.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Hopewell Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
