Lorraine Joyce Wilkerson of Effingham, Illinois formerly of Potosi, Missouri was born on Saturday, February 6, 1932 in Flora, Illinois a daughter of the late, Bertha A. (Mitchell) Carter and Noble “Bud” Carter. Lorraine departed this life on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois having reached the age of eighty-years, seven months and five days.
Lorraine is survived by two daughters, Betty Johnson and husband, Bob of Beecher City, Illinois, Tana Hazlett and husband, Terry of Teutopolis, Illinois; one son, Floyd Goodman, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Loogootee, Indiana; two sisters, Martha Hosselton of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Loretta Lagle and husband, Jim of Flora, Illinois; nine grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, eleven step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, also surviving are several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd E. Goodman, Billy Wilkerson, three brothers, Charles Carter, James Carter and Joe Carter.
Lorraine was very faithful she loved going to church and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed talking and visiting with family and friends who will all remember her for the love she shared.
Visitation was held Friday, September 14, 2012 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Friday, September 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor Bob Peach and Pastor Bradley Miller officiating.
Burial took place in the Palmer Cemetery, Belgrade, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Aaron Heaton, Charles Goodman, Steven Goodman, Jacob Minter, Jeremiah Donaldson and Elijah Donaldson.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Gospel Assembly Church, Effingham, Illinois.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
