James Edward Woodruff of Potosi, Missouri was born on March 7, 1940 in Flat River, Missouri and departed this life on March 29, 2017 at the St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-seven years and twenty-two days.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette B. (Barton) Woodruff and Eddie Jesse Woodruff, four sisters, Sophie May Woodruff, Patsy Woodruff, Melba Riggs, Janet Minx, four brothers, Norvel “Sonny” Woodruff, Tom Woodruff, Billie Woodruff and Paul Woodruff and one brother-in-law, Thomas DeClue.
Eddie is survived by three sons, Roy Woodruff and wife, Tina of Lexington, Oklahoma; Roger Daniel Woodruff and wife, Lisa of El Rino, Oklahoma; Cory Lee Woodruff and wife, Melissa of Cadet, Missouri; two sisters, Carol DeClue of Valle Mines, Missouri; Mary Drage and husband, Ron of Kearney, Nebraska; one brother, John Woodruff and wife, Lila of Potosi Lake, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Pat Woodruff; six grandchildren, great-grandchildren; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Eddie enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, going to yard sales and watching television, especially old westerns. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with his grandkids. Eddie served in the United State Army and was honorably discharged. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, March 31, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Randy Minx, Jimmie Minx, Joe Stevanson-Woodruff, Ed Vandergriff, Shaun Woodruff, Cary Woodruff and honorary pallbearers, Tom Hedrick and Eddie Vandergriff Jr.
Arrangements were entrusted into the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
